Chicago Recording Studios

Studio X. The brainchild of a group of voice actors and producers, the studio was created as an alternative to traditional recording space. Located in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, Studio X has the intimate feel of a small recording studio but with the full, state-of-the-art, digital recording capabilities of large recording centers. Warm, convenient and with a certain "x" factor, Studio X is designed for voice over audio. It is an excellent location for individual talent as well as large-scale professional recording.

Anne Gallagher
Studio Manager

A working talent herself (www.annegallagher.com), Anne also manages Studio X. She can help you arrange the most efficient team for your recording needs or simply assist you in booking the studio time you need. You can call her directly at 773-227-0700.

Jim Frazier
Engineer

Jim is a recording engineer who works with independent music and industrial clients. Jim served as chief engineer for one of the top voice over demo production houses here in Chicago for 3 years. Jim has recorded demos, full length albums as well as run sound for numerous local music events and trade shows. A skilled musician himself, Jim is a fantastic option for those in need of fast, professional results.

Gordon Rinda
Engineer

Gordon has been involved with sound audio/video recording for over 20 years and has worked on hundreds of regional and national radio, voice and independent record releases. Gordon is a member of the National Association of Broadcasters and is on the steering committee for Engineering and Recording Society of Chicago.

Patty Neumann
Freelance Producer

Patty has been in the business for the past 20 years working her way up to Producer. As a freelance radio and television commercial producer for the past 10 years, she has worked with DDB, BBDO, Y&R, Euro-Tatham RSCG, Frankel and Harpo Productions (Radio).

Roger Wolski
Producer/Engineer

For more than 20 years, Roger Wolski has been a producer and sound engineer in the entertainment industry. He produced and directed The Twilight Zone Radio Dramas, hosted by Stacy Keach. Producing 90 episodes, he also directed, recorded, created sound effects and mixed each episode. As production executive of the feature film Madison, Roger worked with a multi-million dollar budget and stars such as Jim Cavezial (The Passion of the Christ), Bruce Dern (All The Pretty Horses) and Mary McCormack (Full Frontal, Deep Impact). Madison was released by MGM in 2005. During his career, he has also produced audio books, and sound design for film and broadcast.

We are conveniently located at 3055 West Armitage Avenue, in the Logan Square neighborhood one mile west of the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) and two miles north of the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290). Free parking is available on the street.

From the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94)
Exit at Armitage Avenue and proceed west about 1.5 miles. Studio X is on the south side of the street.

From the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290)
Driving east toward Chicago, exit at Sacramento Boulevard and proceed north about 3 miles to Armitage Avenue. Sacramento Boulevard becomes Humboldt Boulevard when you pass North Avenue. Turn left (west) and proceed two blocks. Studio X will be on the south side of the street.

Driving west from Chicago, exit at California and proceed to Sacramento Boulevard. Turn right (north) and proceed north about 3 miles to Armitage Avenue. Sacramento Boulevard becomes Humboldt Boulevard when you pass North Avenue. Turn left (west) and proceed two blocks. Studio X will be on the south side of the street.
